Who We Are
Company Philosophy

The Sarapiqui region of Costa Rica is one rich in primary rainforest, natural
resources and wild life. Like other areas of the world today, these riches are
high in demand and in danger of destruction.

Responsible eco-tourism has proven to provide a chance for the survival of
the natural resources, and for curious visitors to experience the power of the
natural world first hand. Through naturalist adventure activities, such as
whitewater rafting, mountain biking, and hiking, we are seeking to provide
that chance in a way that is sustainable, educational, and FUN!

History

Aventuras del Sarapiqui began operation in January of 1993 offering tours to
bird watchers down the Sarapiqui River. Since then, the company has
grown to offer trips on Class I-V sections using paddle and oar rafts, trips in
small inflatable kayaks, and hard shell kayak tours and training.

All guides are trained in whitewater safety, rescue, CPR and first aid. As a
company, we take pride in the protection and maintenance of our local
environment.

• We train and employ local guides.
• We participate in environmental education and river clean up activities with
the Sarapiqui Conservation Learning Center and Tirimbina Nature Center.
• We offer free rafting trips for responsible local students.
